PASTORAL CARE
LISTEN WITH THE EAR OF THE HEART
PASTORAL CARE
St. Nicholas Catholic Church ministers to the sick, home & facility-bound, and bereaved of the parish through a variety of Pastoral Care services. The Wellness Ministry within Pastoral Care focuses on the health of our parishioners in body, mind & spirit.
Please contact the Pastoral Associate if a family member or friend is hospitalized or homebound and would like to receive Eucharist. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick can be arranged for all those facing surgery, serious illness, or disabilities.
Homebound Ministers
The ministers embody the care of the community for its sick members. Parishioners take the Eucharist and share scripture and prayer with those unable to come to church.
Hospital Ministers
These ministers extend themselves to those hospitalized. They share the Eucharist, scripture, prayer and “listen with the heart” to concerns of the patient.

FUNERAL PLANNING
St. Nicholas is available to assist in the planning of a Funeral for a loved one. Please call the Pastoral Associate at 757-340-7231.
After your initial contact, the date and time of the funeral will be coordinated between the church and the funeral home. Please do not set the date until both the funeral home and Fr. Jun have confirmed their availability.
Funeral Hospitality Ministry
This ministry offers hospitality resources for families that are preparing for the funeral of a loved one. They will assist with a reception, large or small, for the family at the church after the funeral. Volunteers prepare and coordinate food donations, help set up seating for the reception, and assist with serving.
Get in Touch to volunteer to provide food donations for funeral receptions.
